Yoga Therapy is steadily becoming recognized by health care professionals as a reliable method of improving one’s overall health and well-being.  The methods of Yoga which have been handed down over thousands of years recognized that in order for healing to be successful, all aspects of a person should be addressed and integrated.  Yoga therapeutics  include physical practices, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques to create and maintain an optimum state of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.

The goal of the Yoga Therapist is to design a personalized Yoga Therapy Home Program to meet the client’s specific needs.

A Yoga Therapy Session may integrate some or all of the following:

  • A physical practice focused on specific health issues
  • Mindful breathing exercises
  • Mediation techniques
  • Conscious relaxation practices
  • Methods to release stress and achieve a sense of balance and  harmony

Yoga Therapy can be used to address musculosketal issues such as:

  • Lower or upper back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches
  • Carpel Tunnel
  • Joint pain

Yoga Practices can also be used to manage:

  • High blood pressure
  • Arthritis
  • Emotional challenges (such as depression and anxiety)
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Neurological disorders

Private Yoga Therapy Session Fees:

  • 1/2 Hour – $40.00
  • 1 Hour – $75.00
  • 1 1/2 Hour – $105.00

Terry Brown is a Certified Yoga Therapist through IAYT.  He is the co-owner of The Triad Yoga Institute and co-director of the East Coast Yoga Therapist Training Program.  He is also NPI-Certified Posture Specialist.  He began his dedicated practice of Yoga in 1984, and became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in 1995.
