Terry Brown & Purna Yoga

Terry Brown, E-RYT 500, co-director of the Triad Yoga Institute, has been a student of yoga and meditation since 1984. Terry’s extensive journey in the study of yoga has led him to study with a variety of teachers and traditions; however he now considers Aadil Palkhivala, co-founder of Purna Yoga, his main teacher and influence.

Aadil and his wife, Mirra, created Purna Yoga as means to integrate the vast aspects of yoga into an invaluable set of tools for transformation and healing.  Offering wisdom and techniques for the union of the body and the mind with the spirit, Purna Yoga teaches alignment-based asana, meditation and pranayama, along with nutrition and yogic living. Purna Yoga teaches us how to reconnect with our hearts and experience a life of joy.

When we feel lost, sad, confused, stuck, stiff, or are in pain, our bodies are telling us that we have lost contact with the most important part of us, our spirit. Therefore, we must use our breath, actions, thoughts and feelings to welcome our spirit into our first and most important home, our bodies. Purna Yoga teaches the mind, the body, and the emotions how to be at home with the spirit.

Terry is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, and a Certified Purna Yoga Teacher.  Certified Purna Yoga Teachers have 2000 hours of study, training, and personal practice under the guidance of Aadil and Mirra.  If you are inspired to share the tools and techniques of Purna Yoga in your area and would like to present a Purna Yoga workshop at your studio, please contact Terry to explore your options.

Possibilities include a Purna Yoga 3 day workshop on a variety of topics as well as a 5 day Purna Yoga Teacher Training.  Terry can also present workshops on a variety of therapeutic topics.  His experience working in the profession of Physical Therapy and his extensive study with Aadil in the area of therapeutic yoga have helped him to develop an understanding of how to address a variety of physical challenges.
