Join Terry Brown as he presents his workshop, Yoga, MeltMethod, and the Immune System on Saturday, December 16th, 10:30AM – 1:00PM.

The immune system protects your body from harmful substances, germs and cell changes that could make you ill. It is made up of various organs, cells and proteins.

As long as your immune system is running smoothly, you don’t even notice that it’s there! But if it stops working properly – because it’s weak or can’t fight particularly aggressive germs – you get ill.

Yoga asana make up the cornerstone of infection prevention, but yoga’s benefits don’t stop there. Since both colds and flu attack the bronchial passages, it makes sense that conditioning the lungs and maximizing one’s breathing capacity through pranayama would build resistance to preying organisms.  Enough research has been presented to show that meditation increases endorphins, decreases cortisol levels, and fosters positive states of mind to promote better health and help reduce stress.

The MeltMethod Soft Foam Roller can be used to address the link between the calves and the sinuses through the fascial continuum. When you’re feeling sick and stuffy, the Melt Roller can help support your immune system as well as your balance and stability. This part of our program addressed the connection of the immune system with the shins, thighs, back, shoulders, ribs and even the face and base of skull.

Workshop cost ~ $55.00 and registration is available under “Workshops”.
