Nancy Thornton

Nancy Thornton
Nancy Thornton loves to teach Ashtanga Yoga. This system of yoga presents an intelligent combination of postures and breath. As the class moves from sun salutations to standing, seated and inverted postures the breath slows down as the bodies heat up. Nancy currently studies with Matthew Sweeney of Australia who emphasizes the importance of using the breath as the link to move in and out of the postures, enhancing our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. A total hip replacement renewed my awe and wonder at the strength and symmetry inherent in yoga postures. I especially fell in love with the warrior poses. I went from crutches to blocks and still found no matter how remote I was from the original posture, my spine was singing!
